sit down, take a deep breath.
this is just an attack of nerves.
you're trying to step in to iridescence
and we're barricading the door.
doesn't seem that you can hear us,
but then who are you to listen?
this is just a dizzy spell,
another allergic reaction.
i don't want to know.
i don't want to watch you glow.
chewed up and purposeful,
ripped fabric in the night.
an allergen gone so slim
from lack of want and lack of right.

Parapsychology
03:29
|
|||
i remember the last time you lost your sight,
how it sloshed down your shirt, drained the colour to white.
just a sucking stitch, curling up round your shins;
it was all you'd ever hoped for.
still i clung tighter than you'd ever know
to your self-sufficiency, to your phantom limbs.
oh, the nerve of every creature and force on earth
to try to move you an inch.
and you murmured
"hey, kid, don't mess with it.
you were born to be a parapsychologist.
the stars say don't fool yourself,
just a weeping winter solstice and nothing, nothing else."
well, where am i when you fall ill?
what have i done for you lately?
and i still see your sense of touch as it came undone,
glazing chandeliers, lazing in the blazing sun.
vapours alkaline strained to blend into mine,
til i saw what you really looked like.
and you murmured
"hey, kid, don't mess with it.
you were born to be a parapsychologist.
the stars say endure your health,
just a sleeping doctor's office and nothing, nothing else."
well, where am i when you fall ill?
what have i done for you lately?
your tongue map's the zodiac,
you could drink the whole cosmos down.

Cranes
04:37
|
|||
you're in a crane,
no counterweight,
the shields won't split, won't sway.
you tear through textile,
swing up through space,
"i think we can coexist," you say.
from sign to sin, you win;
the porch lights on and off and on again.
oh, cosmonaut, wound up, tipped off,
sprouting out the parking lot.
push through the sealing
eyeless, reeling
smokescreen, semaphore
trace down the small of your back
rusting mirages
frozen, godless
motion medical
like you were told to, like i was told to
you're in a crane,
right and retained,
the anchor slides slowly away.
you crash so silent
through dark backyards,
and pivot back to where you start.

Shiver / Not Shimmer
03:39
|
|||
both of us were built to resist,
stripped to ribbons full in bloom,
fastened up into bruises, into stains.
and when i shut off my senses,
you're beside me in this room.
you're forever smiling, brimming with rain.
and you feel me shiver,
i don't feel you shimmer.
you know the numbing way the tape loop rings and whimpers.
and the walls they bend and shake,
and the doors they overflow.
i come open again, you crawl in and take control.
both of us are cease and desist,
tread upon like morning dew,
waiting patient for the weather to change.
and when you shut off your senses,
there's no chance you'll get away,
as the waves smash headlong into the break of day.
burst through me
blue church.
gather all the shatters
and give them a name.

Lavender Edition
04:13
|
|||
now you see him, still drifting on satin surface;
just a sweater thread on a carpet, a contortionist.
yes, and you're a pedestal. wasn't it always this heavy?
now you hear the words he was trying so hard to say:
"well, i know you;
no, we know each other.
i know how tired you are
of the scent and the taste."
in time you will get yours, kitten.
in time you will get yours.
